Happy Father's Day

In honor of Father's Day....a What the Duck Cartoon
In the age of digital photography it is too easy to leave those precious photo memories stored on your computer hard drive. I am guilty of this with my own personal photographs. This Father's Day (Sunday June 15) would be a great day to work on those scrapbooks or at least order photo prints. Check out my favorite consumer lab http://www.snapfish.com/ .
Happy Father's Day to all the dads out there.

Music for websites, slideshows, etc.
I have received many compliments regarding the song on my website. I loved it the first time I heard it as well. After I finished creating my blu domain website, I knew that a good song would pull everything together and create more emotion. It can be difficult for photographers to find good royalty free music. Most of the free songs out there sound computer generated and are just annoying.
My current website song is called "You're The One" by David Keen. I purchased it from Triple Scoop Music, which is a premier music licensing service built for photographers, videographers, and all other creative professionals. The royalty free music collections include Grammy and Emmy winning artists, as well as acclaimed songwriters and musicians from around the globe. I thought the price per song was crazy at first but it was well worth it. I highly recommend the site to other photographers that are looking to incorporate music into their presentation.
Why do I need royalty free music? Well, I try to set a good example. I don't want people to steal my work buy pulling photos off the web or scanning prints. I know musicians feel the same way and it is illegal to use copyright protected music on websites and slide shows.

The "Grunge" look
There are a million different ways to enhance your photographs using the help of Adobe Photoshop. Typically, I keep my wedding photos pretty simple. I aim for a timeless look. Trends can be fun but in a few years that may seem a little silly. I do like to break out of the ordinary from time to time and be a little more creative. The grunge look is very popular in other areas especially with high school seniors.
A photo of Jessica and Evan in downtown Leesburg. I believe it was the coldest day we had in January. Grunge border was made with textures in photoshop.
The original image.
Another version. Color image with grunge border and photoshop brushes.
A photo of Michelle and I inside a 4x6 grunge template.
So what do you think? It's a little different from my typical work.
